World Book Day

Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day. We would like to share with you our plans for the day:

 

  • We would like to invite children to come into school dressed as their favourite book character.
  • We would like to hold a swap shop in school.

If your child has a book (or books) that they are happy to bring in to school to give away, then they will be given the opportunity to swap a book for one that somebody else has brought in. This might also be a good opportunity for children to have a look at their bookcases, or the bookcases of older siblings to see if there are any children’s books that they would be happy to donate to school. Every child who brings in a book or books, will bring one book home and others will be donated to school.

  • We are going to have a reading carousel throughout the day, where adults from other classes will come and read a favourite story to each class.
  • We are going to spend some time sharing a book with a friend from another class.
