Miss Haigh and Mrs Emmingham will be in class everyday. If you have any questions or would like to talk to us about your child please feel free email us on our class email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Children will be expect to come to school in full PE kit every Thursday for PE day.
Spellings will be given out on a Tuesday with the spelling test taking place the following Tuesday. Year 2 pupils will have a separate spelling list and test. Both year 3 and 4 pupils will have the same spellings. In year 3/4 we follow a 2 year rotating cycle of all lower KS2 spelling patterns to ensure full coverage of the curriculum.
Cancellation of the phonics screening check in June 2020 means year 2 pupils did not take the check in year 1. In the 2020/21 academic year only, it is statutory for schools to administer a past version of the phonics screening check to year 2 pupils during the second half of the 2020 autumn term.
Year 2 pupils who meet the expected standard in phonics in the autumn check will not be required to complete any further statutory assessments in phonics. Year 2 pupils who do not meet the expected standard in the autumn check will be expected to take the statutory check in June 2021, alongside year 1 pupils.
Year 3 pupils, who were due to take the statutory check in June 2020 (when they were in year 2), are not formally required to take the autumn check.
In May, children will sit their KS1 SATs in:

Year 4 Times Tables Check
The multiplication tables check is an online test for pupils in Year 4. Pupils are asked to answer 25 questions. They are given six seconds per question, with three seconds rest between each question.
We are busy preparing for this test in class! At home Times Tables Rock Stars is a fantastic resource to use as it mimics the official times table check in a fun competitive way. The key to this test is quick recall of multiplication facts.
In 2021, the Multiplication Tables Check has been cancelled due to COVID-19 disruption.
It was due to be administered (on a non-statutory basis) within the three-week period starting on Monday 7 June 2021.
